Posted by u/idahowoodworker 8 hours ago Complain on my truck? Enjoy cleaning your fountain. Many years ago I lived in a development that formed an HOA 15 years after the development was finished. So joining the HOA was optional as it wasn't created when the development was. I opted not to join. I had a truck, sitting in my driveway, that ran but I seldom used since I commuted to work and it sucked gas like Linda Lovelace. It also had a tire with a slow leak so the minute the rim touched the conc

the city. Which was stupid to start with, it was in MY driveway. So I'd air up the tire and notify the city, and the notice would be filed under "unsubstantiated". After about the 3rd or 4th time of this happening, I was on the phone with code enforcement and they were getting as annoyed with the complainant as I was. While they couldn't tell me who was filing the complaint, they hinted around enough that I

knew who it was. A neighbor whose BACK yard was adjacent to mine and lived around the corner. She didn't even live on my street. She was also the new HOA's president. She also had an abandoned water feature/fountain that would go stagnant after it rained, creating a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Making that call to the city then seeing the fountain cleaned out a couple days later was satisfying.

BeautifulPhantom1 · 7 hr. ago Ugh, people that cruise streets they don't live/work on just looking for violations are the absolute worst. They also have way too much time on their hands. I guess your nosy neighbor found her new hobby in cleaning a non-working fountain. 49 Reply Share . . . Zoreb1 6 hr. ago Had a friend where, one day, an old lady went around with a code officer pointing out all the violations in the neighborhood. He had to replace a door. 19 Reply Share . . .

Brilliant_Concert995 5 hr. ago When I was a teen, I had a '68 Firebird that I was working on for MONTHS. It was parked in the street, but that was OK, all the houses in our neighborhood had very short one car driveways, so everyone worked on cars in the street. Firebird had same problem as OP, slow leak in front left tire. Pretty much as soon as the tire became noticeably low, it would get tagged as abandoned (reported by the one down the street). neighbor

I didn't have a compressor back then, neighbors DID, but hose nowhere near reaching the car, meaning it up, remove the tire, air it up, rehang the tire. I was 16, It would be a couple years before it occurred to me in retrospect,"Dang, should have just had the tire fixed first time I took it off." What DID occur to me after about the third sticker on the windshield - when I jacked the car up somewhat, tire did not appear flat at all. So I stacked some pieces of 2X4 under the a-arm so the tire wa

I'm a mechanic, I did side work out of my driveway. I never found out who the scumbag was, we eventually moved. I hated it the entire time that we lived there.. . . The afor mentioned cars were only IN my driveway for a day or so, over a weekend. No mess, oil stains, or loud exhaust. Good Times brought to you by people who have no life. 3 Reply Share
